Orionids Meteor Shower

Event Details

Meteor Shower – Comets and their trailing dust clouds travel around the Sun much like the Earth does. When the Earth crosses those dust streams, a meteor shower occurs. Rocks and dust from these clouds burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere, and can be seen as shooting stars up to 100 per hour or more. Meteor showers are named for the constellation that holds their radiant point, the point in the sky from which the meteors appear to come.
