November 2021 Moon Phases and More Featuring Meteor Showers and a Lunar Eclipse! Learn More at WildHemlock.Com!

November 2021 has five meteor showers, a partial lunar eclipse, and a great astrophotography opportunity for those with telescopes! The 2021 winter Eclipse Season starts shortly, and Venus will Occult the Moon this month as well. Although there are not many astronomical events this month, the ones that occur are exciting.

On November 19th, the Ascending Node and the Full Moon partially overlap, resulting in a Partial Lunar Eclipse. This only occurs when a lunar node meets the Full Moon. Per the Glossary,

A lunar eclipse can only occur while the Moon is in the Full Moon phase and is located at a lunar node, where the Moon’s orbit intersects with the Earth’s orbit around the sun. This creates a straight alignment.
